About Us

Hervey Bay Physio Clinic

Hervey Bay Physio & Aliied Health (previously known as Hervey Bay Physiotherapy Centre) has been striving to help the people of Hervey Bay move well for over 20 years. Dwayne Kempster took over the clinic in 2007 and since then Hervey Bay Physio has expanded in both physiotherapists and the services they provide. We now provide physiotherapy services to patients in the clinic and at home, to many of the local residential care facilities and retirement villages and to a variety of sporting organisations.

Recently, Hervey Bay Physio & Allied Health has began provision of Exercise Physiology services. The move towards a multidiciplinary service is very exciting for us as we are the only clinic in the Fraser Coast area to provide physiotherapy and exercise physiology under the one roof. A multidiciplinary clinic will help to:

  • Improve efficiency for the GP when referring (in particular through the EPC/CDM referral program)
  • Improve communication between both treating therapists and the patient
  • Will help provide consistency in patient management
  • Help Improve efficiency for patient bookings
  • Will provide better efficiency in service delivery to the patient

Hervey Bay Physio & Allied Health hopes to soon expand this service to include Occupational Therapy and a Dietitian.

Nautilus Orthopaedics

Hervey Bay Physio was proud to begin visiting services at Nautilus Orthopaedics (located at Madsen Medical, Urraween) in October 2016. Dr Simon Elix is the founder and Director of Nautilus Orthopaedics in his hometown of Darwin and recently expanded his practice nationally, with the establishment of Nautilus Orthopaedics in Hervey Bay, Queensland in 2016.

The physiotherapists at Hervey Bay Physio work very closely with Dr Simon Elix to ensure smooth post operative recovery through direct consultation, consistency and up to date therapy and management programs. This combined with Dr Simon Elix’s employment of new blood loss minimisation techniques, multi-site local anaesthesia and nerve blocks provides one of the most comprehensive orthopaedic services throughout the Wide Bay Area.
